Description
A superior, neat and compact turf is produced from uniformly fine leaves. The lower growth of the species, combined with the fineness of leaf, enables an attractive turf to be maintained and will minimize the opportunity for weed establishment.
Suitability
For a top quality lawn, capable of being closely mown whilst retaining a luxury appearance. An ideal mixture for overseeding in Spring and Autumn.
Species Used
Chewings Fescue, Strong and Slender Creeping Red Fescue, Browntop Bent.
Additional Requirements
To maintain a high quality lawn, apply fertiliser during damp weather in Spring, mid Summer and Autumn, but only after 9 months from sowing.
Sowing Dates
Sow between March and October. Young Grass will appear within 14-21 days under good growing conditions.
Sowing Rates
New Lawn: 35gms per sq. Metre (1.25 oz per sq. yard) ......Overseeding: 25gms per sq. Metre (0.75 oz per sq. yard)
Mowing Height
New Lawn: When grass is 5-8cm (2-3in) high, cut for the first time. Trim lightly and gradually lower blades to an ideal cutting height of 10-12mm (0.5 in)
Overseeding: Mow regularly but try not to remove more than a third of the growth at any one time. |
